Candidate for the Alberta New Democratic Party in Sherwood Park, Alberta
ENTREPRENEUR, TEACHER,PARENT, NEW DEMOCRAT
I’ve been a part of this community my entire life. I grew up in Sherwood Park and it is the place I chose to open my business. Now, I’m working to represent Sherwood Park as your next NDP MLA.
I’m passionate about preparing Alberta’s economy for the future, supporting our young people with a strong public education system, and making sure our communities are successful, welcoming places for everyone.
Twenty years ago, I started my first business, bringing solar power to the oil and gas industry. Today, renewable power and energy conservation are some of the fastest growing sectors in the economy.
Over the years my work grew and changed – I’ve built successful businesses, trained students in alternative energy at NAIT, guided start-up entrepreneurs at TEC Edmonton, and held leadership roles at the University of Alberta and Alberta Municipalities. In every one of these roles, I’ve been focused on empowering people and organizations to make the transition to clean energy, and to prepare for the jobs of the future.
But my most important role is at home – as a husband, and as a father to our two fantastic kids. I'm running because I want to help create a better future for them in Alberta, and I know that we are better off with Rachel.
Sherwood Park is located on Treaty Six Territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region Two and Four. Our campaign honours the First Peoples of this land. We recognize that we stand upon land that carries the footsteps of Cree, Métis, and Blackfoot amongst many other Nations, who have been here for thousands of years.
We embrace our responsibility to foster healthier relationships with First Peoples and further the Calls to Action.
